Addison's Two Month Checkup

Addison went to her two month check up today. Her stats are:
12lbs 3oz (85%); 24 inches (96%); head 15.5 in (68%)

She got a million shots and didn't mind it too much. Big Sister Emma was there to hold her hand which made everything better!!! I remember I cried when Emma got her first round of shots. Things sure do change with the second one. I am not freaking out about every little thing.
They are watching her noggin though. She LOVES sleeping on one side so its not as round as they would like it to be. Doctor said to watch it for another 2 months and do a lot of tummy time. If not, she may have to wear one of those helmets! I always wondered what the helmets were for.

On another baby note, Jodie (my sis-in-law) should be having her second baby anytime now. She is having some contractions and is dilated to a 4 already. I will keep you posted!

On the Road

Well, the past two weekends have been busy for us. We traveled to Ft. Worth for the fourth and then to Katy for my nephews 2nd birthday party. Uncle Todd, Josh, and Drew were able to meet Addison for the first time. Our Katy trip was action packed with a trip to Pump It Up, birthday party, and catching a Dora Live Show. Below are some pictures from all of the festivities. The first picture is of Emma and Josh getting ready to head out to Dora Live. Nanny even made Emma her very own Dora dress. The three stooges are pictured next after they took a bath. The last is of Emma"Cheeto Queen". Before the party even started she was already asking for Cheeto Puffs!!! Emma and Mike are off to Cape May, NJ, in a few days so I will have some more photos to post soon!!!!

The Smith Girls

After several phone calls, emails, and blog posts from folks I am FINALLY posting some updated photos of Addison. She is a cutie I must say!
To the left is the "Aggie" photo that all of the Smith girls have taken. This outfit was both of the girls' going home outfits. Emma had her hospital photo taken in this outfit as well.

On father's day the girls helped Mike finish the kitchen remodel so Addison got to wear her safety goggles and use the drill.

The last photo is of Emma who refused to take a nap one afternoon. I told her to rest in her bed. Mike went to go check on her and told me she was coloring. I go in to see what she is up to about 5 minutes later and this is how I found her...passed out on her coloring book!!!! It's hard to tell in the photo but she is actually asleep still holding the crayon.

Addison's 2 week appointment

Addison just got back from her two week appointment. She weighs 8lbs 7oz (birth weight was 7lbs 5oz) and is happy & healthy! Our next appointment will be the two month SHOT appointment.

The kitchen remodel is coming along. We are just waiting on the countertops to come in and the project should be complete except for a few little touch up items. They should be in sometime next week. Mike has been working REALLY hard to finish the kitchen. He even worked on Father's Day! After this project is complete, we will have officially remodeled EVERY room in the house!

I will try to post some new pictures of Emma & Addison soon! We have some great ones of both of the girls helping Daddy in the kitchen from the weekend!!!

Addison's Room

Thanks to my friend Loree, Addison has a fantastic room to hang out in!! The letters on the wall were made from all of the different fabrics in the room. Loree also sewed the curtains and the bed skirt. She also created the beautiful painting above the crib. My mother-in-law Ruth got the chair recovered and my wonderful husband Mike repainted all of the furniture to match. He LOVES the sander :)

The closet in the picture above is a newly created one. It was actually a closet in Emma's room that we just switched around. To the left of the crib is were the old closet used to be. It was a very tiny closet and the new one is a nice walk-in closet to store all of the clothes that the grandmothers buy!!!
The only thing I can say that I did was buying the lamp and linens!!! I don't think the pictures do it justice, but thanks to Loree I feel that Addison's room is directly out of a magazine!!!

Best Big Sister Ever

Emma is adjusting well to being the BIG SISTER. She wants to be next to Addison as much as possible. Emma isn't afraid of the "stinky" diapers either! If Emma had it her way, Addison would be right by her side 24-7.

Addison's room is decorated now as well. A friend from school helped me paint, made the curtains & bed skirt, painted a picture, and made some other decor items. I will post a picture soon!

For those wondering about the kitchen remodel...well its still in progress. Hopefully in the next few days we will have it all put together. I am getting a tired of eating out!!!

Thanks - Mike

Addison/Kitchen Update

Well, I had another doctor's appointment today. Again, not much going on. But as the doctor tells me it can be any day. We have set an induction date for June 9th if nothing else happens before then. I was really hoping for a 6-6 but a 6-9 wouldn't be bad either!!!

The kitchen is officially gutted and the sheet rock is almost done. Next week will hopefully be tile and starting the cabinets.

Any bets on which will be get done sooner...Addison coming or the kitchen being completed????

Prego Picture

So I am caving...here is a prego picture!!! This was taken at the hospital after Emma's Big Sister class. Its not the best but hopefully it will satisfy some of you guys!!

Emma was sooooooooooooooo excited about Big Sister class. She got to tour the room where Addison will be born, saw the nursery, and even got to see a newborn baby up close!

Addison's room is pretty much done. We are just waiting on a carpet guy to fix some areas where we took out/created walls. Mike has the baseboards all done but is waiting to tack them in after the carpet guy comes. I'll post some pictures of her room once its all done.

Addison Update

I had yet another doctor's appointment today. Last week I was a "1" and today I was a "1-2". I am still "thick". Sounds like you are ordering a shake or something!!! Anyways, looks like Addison will hang on and try to hit her due date. We are still putting the final touches on her room and will be working hard this weekend to get it all together.

Phase one of the house remodel is coming to a close and we are debating on whether or not to start the second phase which is a new kitchen. We have the cabinets in the garage ready to go and will be placing the appliance order tonight. We have roughed out a schedule to have the kitchen pretty much done by Addison's due date. I know it seems insane to tear up the kitchen now, but I am thinking if we don't do it now then we will have to wait a few months until Addison gets a little older. We shall see if we can get this schedule going!!!

This weekend, Emma will be attending sibling class at the hospital. She is sooooooooooo excited!
She will get to watch a video, practice holding a baby, and a tour of where Addison will be born. Every few days she will ask me if Addison is coming out today! She is also concerned that it will hurt mommy's tummy when Addison comes out. I have insured her that the doctor will be there to take care of mommy and it won't hurt (HA HA!).

I've had some requests of prego pictures...I'll see what I can do!

I head back to the doctor next Friday so I will update everyone then!

Call me a slacker

So for the past month all I have done on my blog is to log on to see how many more days I have until Addison arrives! I know...sad!
As you can imagine, we are STILL trying to get everything ready. When I found out that I was pregnant we decided to start remodeling our house because we just knew we could do it all in a few months! WELL...we are still remodeling and Addison is expected in a few a weeks.
The good thing is the house is almost done and it looks great. Mike has worked really hard and it is all coming together. We have the kitchen to go!!!
Two weeks ago, a friend from work came to help me paint Addison's room. She is also helping decorate as well. This weekend, I will be trying to put everything in the room and getting the final details taken care of.

Speaking of Addison - all is well. I am currently going to the doctor once a week to get weighed and "checked". Currently dilated to a centimeter which doesn't mean a whole lot. I am still trying to convince the doctor to induce on the 6th so that all of the Scearce grandkids have "the" birthday. (Josh 4-4-04, Emma 2-2, Andrew 7-7-07). If that doesn't work, then I think I can at least go for 6-9-09!!

Emma is so excited to be a big sister. The other day as we were walking out the door to head to school, she asked me if Addison was coming today. I told her it would be a few more weeks and she had a disappointed look on her face. She will be attending "sibling class" in a week or so. She will get to check out the hospital and learn what all will happen when her little sister arrives.

I will try to keep a "prego" update each week after my doctor appointment!

Rainy Easter

Well, at 7:30 in the morning Emma went on her Easter egg hunt just before it began to rain! She found all of the eggs just before it began to poor down. Emma REALLY enjoyed

the chocolate Easter bunny candy that her Nanny got her. I had to hide the package because she would go and raid it when I wasn't looking.
It was such much fun this year getting to discuss with Emma what Easter is all about. I don't think she fully understood everything but it was fun answering her questions about Jesus' death and resurrection!

Josh's 5th Birthday

A few weeks ago, Emma and I drove down to celebrate Josh's 5th birthday. Everyone had a blast at the birthday party. I (being pregnant and all) thought I could go and sit in the jump house to take some pictures of the kiddos. Well, I tried to sit on what looked like a ledge and down I went!!! The horrible thing was that someone had to come help me "roll" back over!

We also got a chance to catch one of Josh's t-ball games. What a riot that was to see!!! Emma had a blast getting to cheer on her cousin. Drew had more fun playing in the dirt then watching the game!!

Finally..another post

Well, I just realized that I have been lazy and have not posted much. I haven't even posted pictures of Emma's party!!!! Emma had a blast at her birthday party. We hosted it at Pump It Up and all of her cousins were there along with some friends from school.

I thought I would share this photo of her first birthday just for fun! She had a 104 fever on her first birthday but still managed to get into the cake!

Emma and Cousin Josh getting ready to go into the jump area.

Cousin Carter having a BLAST!!!! I love his big boy haircut!

No fear Drew!!! This 18 month old had no problem going down the big boy slide all by himself.

After the party, Josh & Emma took the motorcycle out for a spin. Doesn't Josh look like one bad biker dude?

Since the birthday party, we have been on the go. Our house is still undergoing some construction. Phase I is ALMOST complete!!! The wood floors are down and they look amazing. Mike is finishing the trim work. The next project will be to gut the kitchen! Hopefully this will all take place before June!!!

At the beginning of March, my brother-in-law Brian completed his first marathon in Ft. Worth. It was cold and VERY windy!!!! He did a great job and it was a blast getting to race from spot to spot to see him. That same weekend, Mike's parents treated everyone to a Dallas Star's game. They rented out a box for us and some of their friends. It was incredible!!!!

This past weekend, Emma and I went to see my folks and sister. Emma got to play with her cousins. For some reason, Emma and Josh are going through a phase of fighting and arguing as soon as they see each other! I got so mad when I took them to Walmart, that I marched them back out to the car and told them not to say A WORD the entire way home! It actually worked, they didn't say a word. As soon as we got back to the house and they started playing the arguing began again. I think I am getting a taste of what my parents went through with my sister and I!!! Drew on the other hand just wants to do whatever the big kids are doing. The entire time we were visiting he would run around the house saying "Emma".

I hope to post some of the updated house photos soon!!!

Happy Birthday

Today is Emma's 4th birthday! Wow, I really can't believe that my little girl is already four. At Emma's request we visited Buffalo Wild Wings. She LOVES hot wings!!! Then it was back home for cake (of course it had to have pink icing) and ice cream. She can't stop talking about her party that she will have at the local Pump It Up this weekend. All of her cousins will be there and a few friends from school and the neighborhood. I will post some pictures of the shindig!

Emma got confirmation this weekend on her little sister. A friend of mine was able to give me a freebie sonogram and sure enough this time it was plain as day...GIRL PARTS! Mike is coming to terms to a household field with women (we also have a girl dog!!). We may have to get him a male cat or something to off set all of the girls!!! :)

It's a girl????

Well, our baby has 2 arms, 2 legs, some fingers, and appears healthy. That is pretty much all that we know for certain. When it came to predicting the sex, the doctor had a little trouble since the umbilical cord was right in between the legs making it hard to see. The doctor believes that he saw some girl parts so that is what we are going with now. He was not completely certain though so we shall see!!

New Year - Changes

I hope that everyone reading this had a great Christmas and wonderful start to the new year.
We spent our holiday traveling from Houston, to Ft. Worth, to home, to Houston again, and finally back home. The reason for all of the traveling is due to the fact that we are renovating our home currently. Our contractors were able to do most of the work while we were away. This week we have a sheetrock/texture guy coming to finish up the walls. Hopefully he will be able to slap some paint on the walls to make this project complete. Once this phase is over we will start on the kitchen! I am SO not looking forward to that. We will be gutting the kitchen pretty much so that means a family of 3 living without a kitchen for a while. I guess it will all be worth it once it is complete. Mike has completed our master bath which is AWESOME! He will be putting new flooring in the living room and kitchen once the other work is done.

On the baby front...everything is going well. I go to the doctor in 2 weeks and hopefully if Itty Bitty Smitty #2 cooperates, we will find out if this baby is a boy or a girl. Emma is still really hoping for a girl but we are trying to get her used to the idea of having a brother just in case. Part of the renovation has been preparing the babies room. Once everything is completed in the house I will post some pictures.
